Larry L. Huck, of Tripoli, died Wednesday, February 17, 2016, surrounded by family at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City.
A Memorial Service will be held at Faith United Church of Christ in Tripoli on Saturday, February 20, 2016, at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Jon Hennings officiating. Friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday February 19th, at Rettig Funeral Home in Tripoli and for one hour preceding services on Saturday at the church. Memorials may be made in his name to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Larry Leslie, son of Leslie and Gladys (Pape) Huck was born January 1, 1945, in Sumner, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church-Spring Fountain of rural Sumner. He received his education in the Tripoli Schools graduating from Tripoli High School in 1963. Larry worked for Terex Cranes in Waverly for thirty-seven years. He was a long time member of Faith United Church of Christ in Tripoli. He enjoyed bowling, collecting coins and other memorabilia, fishing, and being on a boat. Larry liked to travel, he made trips to Hawaii, Texas to visit his brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Shirley, and often to Virginia to visit his son Aaron and family, but most especially he enjoyed time with his children and grandchildren.
Larry is survived by his two sons, Aaron (Beth) Huck of Ashburn, Virginia, Joshua (Kelly Chien) of Waterloo; four grandchildren, Caleb, Ella, Aiden, and Audriana; two brothers, Eugene (Shirley) Huck of Sumner, Clarence (Rosemary) Huck of Waverly; two sisters, Ann (Duane) Bahlmann, and Betty (Charles) Struck both of Waverly; several nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents.
